El día de hoy donamos una bandera y 25 árboles para plantar en esta escuela ubicada en Dulce Nombre de Santa Teresita. Por primera vez se realizo en esta institución el acto cívico donde madres, alumnos, maestras y nosotros estábamos gustosos de dicho evento. Satisfechos y después del acto y entrega de arboles, disfrutamos de un pequeño refrigerio.

 Today we donated a flag and 25 trees to a school in Dulce Nombre de Santa Teresita. This is the first time this school has had a citizen/civic activity with mothers, graduates, teachers, and us. We were happy to enjoy this event. After the flag raising, pledge, and passing on the trees we all enjoyed a small refreshment.

 More details. This was an event organized by the Casa Turrie staff/manager (Jana in scarf) and some our Let's Go Costa Rica NMSU students (Pancho and Jody) were lucky enough to participate. In more detail this was the first flag that this school has ever had on the flagpole and this flag raising was very important for the students in this one room school for first through sixth graders.

Poncho and Jody served the refreshments that had been provided by the mothers and and volunteers to the students at this small school. The next step is a fundraising activity to put a fence on the edge of the play area so the students won't have to climb down a hill to retrieve any stray balls.
